12/5/01 - Anonymous says: What about the emerging CIW certifications? I am surprised they did not make this list.
12/5/01 - Paul  Taylor says: I was very surprised not to see anything from Novell. The product - Aside from Microsoft bashing it to hell!- it quit powerful to the point where if I was a decision maker in a mid to large company i would take a second look, especially at the new Novell Netware 6. WOW As for the others no surpirse to me except I think it maybe fun to see what MS certs people are getting or thinking of getting or are good to get. ie. Exchange, ISA, e-commerce etc. Only time will tell the test of tales :)
12/5/01 - Nick  L says: Why not first promoting real world skills & particular job titles and tracks first, rather than constantly preaching the "benefits" of certifications, that for many will have as much value as used public restroom toilet paper
12/5/01 - TOM  says: Thought CCIE could be top?
12/6/01 - Nawar  Aljanabi says: I agree that MCSA will be the first but I guess MCSE & MCDBA will have better places before Oracle Certificate.also CCNA will be a big hit for the next year because the increased role on Networking in the IT industry.
12/6/01 - Andy  W says: Cool! I'm a mid-life career changling and working towards 4 of the certs you listed! Though I won't be in the hunt for 2 more years it looks like I'heading in the right direction!
12/6/01 - LCooper  ccna, ccda, ccdp, ccnp, cvoice says: I agree with the ranking of the certs Cisco career track is differently the trend the market is demanding along with new Cisco security a person can put their self in comfortable position. Now my theory of why CCIE didn’t make the ranking is that program is still most respectable and changeling cert out and I think no one disagree with that
12/6/01 - Greg  Neilson says: TOM - Of course the CCIE is a big deal nowdays. But I believe that the point of this article was more about which certifications are promising to grow rapidly in 2002.
12/6/01 - Nick  L says: Most certification tracks will shrink because employers have cut down on training for certs, and because smart people know that paper certs (no matter which one) without experience will not get you a job. Why not have more discussion on the hottest career & job tracks and how one get on one of them, rather than continuous debate and spin about useless certificates?
12/6/01 - Tom  R says: Okay, Nick anyone who has half a brain knows that just getting a cert won't get you anywhere. We get the point. Now Shut Up and Move On
12/7/01 - Lcooper  ccna, ccda, ccnp, ccdp, cvoice says: I think most people in the IT already are smart enough to figure out the certification along will not gaurantee a job, but my question to people such as NICK is to why people as yourself get so bent out shape when a site such as certcities bring article out distingushing the hottest cert? Let face it IT professionals, we are in field that requires individual to be well trained, update, and marketable. What I mean by marketable? For example, when a job is open and a HR person receives thousands of resumes. How are you going to distinguish yourself from the rest of thousands of resumes? Certs, degree or master degree in a particular field: I love my career and have been in out for 4 years and I will continue to gain the necessary knowledge that certs offer because I feel this how I show managers that this guy does what it takes to stay up to date with technology. Now onto the CCIE training…
12/7/01 - Sandy  Welch says: Completely agree with ya'll however I feel another hot cert coming down the pike is the Juniper router cert. Although this is a high end line, they are steadily eroding Cisco's place in the top end and will continue to do so.
12/7/01 - bstan cissp/ccna/ccda  says: Security will be the ultimate buzzword next year. By the way... The first requirement for a ccnp or ccdp is a ccna or ccda, so repeating on your list of certs is kinda like "duh"
12/8/01 - Craven  Moorehead says: You are!
12/8/01 - M. C. Pee  says: i suer that i can be mcse with not nowing engrish first. get cirticifications first and talking nowlege later is what i say.
12/9/01 - Bret  Moeller says: No surprise to see these listed. I am surprised in what I do not see. The MCSE is not a top-ten certification?
12/9/01 - Nick L  says: The MCSE at top ten certification? Sorry, that piece of paper had its fifteen minutes of fame. Anyone who seriously spends any of their own money getting it, ought to have their head examined?
12/10/01 - Anonymous says: CCEA and Checkpoint is not on the list!!
