Network plus exam is extremely easy. Anyone with a few weeks of studying can easily pass. Come on folks! High school kids have been able to pass this exam. No hiring manager in his right mind places any value on a worthless CompTIA exam! |

All CompTIA exams are basically entry-level certifications that can be passed on book knowledge alone. Period. No need for any hands on experience! |

The only book you need is the Network plus Exam Cram at amazon or examcram2.com. I'm not sure when it's coming out -- I think I heard June. Just wait for that. Five guys in my department all passed with flying colors using that book. We had a few other books, but agreed all we needed was the exam cram. I also just noticed their web site has sometihng like 75$ off their network plus test vouchers. |

I agree these are "entry level" exams, not to be confused with a vendor specific exam like the MCSE, which by the way was very simple to pass on book knowledge alone. I know this because I passed the "simple" MCSE NT 4.0 on book knowledge alone. These exams are intended to only to give you a basic knowledge and entry into the IT work environment. |

MCSE on NT 4.0 doesn't count! Those exams were a complete joke! Try passing the MCSE on Windows 2003 on book knowledge alone. It is nearly impossible without some real world experience. Microsoft dramatically increased the difficulty of the 2003 exam track. |

Your on drugs Bob, if you don't know what you're doing, and try to go into a prometric center with book knowledge only, you will fail the Network plus exam. I think the reason you and I see it as "easy" is that we both have real world experience so it "seem" easy to us., You tried taking A plus, 2003 objectives lately? I took both exams lightly and passed, but no way anyone can now days without real world experience. BTW, i've got about 20 years computer and electronic experience with education to match. |

Anon, you're right. If someone has nine months experience working with networks, even if that nine months is in a high school classroom, they might pass this exam. And that's exactly the way it should be. Look, if this exam is easy, then it's because the Job Task Analysis and the group of 2,000 SMEs determined that it should be relatively easy. All this exam does is prove the tech HAS A CLUE. And don't rip on high school kids...I see a lot of them, and I can tell you that some of them are incredibly good. Check out the SkillsUSA contests, and see what these students are asked to do. The top contestants (the medalists) typically go on to major universities with lots of scholarships. Those contests are TOUGH!!! |

I don't subscribe to what bob is saying about the network plus exam. Its really tough without the hands on experience. Book knowledge alone would not be enough. I have withnessedmany people failing the exam woefully. He should withdraw his staements. |
