October Beta Planned for New Microsoft Security Exam

9/18/2002 -- Microsoft plans to beta test Exam 70-214, Implementing and Administering Security in a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network, from Oct. 10 to 17. While in beta, the exam will be numbered 71-214.

Exam 70-214, announced in mid-July of this year, is an MCSA and MCSE elective that tests candidates' skills on implementation of security measures within a Microsoft environment. Since July 2000, Microsoft has offered another security exam, numbered 70-220, that's aimed at MCSEs whose job role includes planning and designing a security methodology.

Microsoft has an exam objectives guide posted at http://www.microsoft.com/traincert/exams/70-214.asp.

Microsoft offers beta exams on an invitation-only basis. To find out more about participating in future beta exams, go to http://www.microsoft.com/traincert/mcpexams/status/beta.asp. MD, MCPMag.com
