12/5/2007 -- I'm using Outlook 2007. My e-mail profiles are working fine but I'm getting errors for my RSS feeds and published calendars. Here are the errors:

    • Task "RSS Feeds" reported error (0x8004010F): "The operation failed. An object cannot be found."
    • Task "Published Calendars" reported error (0x8004010F): "The operation failed. An object cannot be found."

Restarting the computer didn't help. How can I get rid of this error?

    Answer:
Follow the procedure described below to get rid of the error. I've tested this on Windows Vista Ultimate running Outlook 2007 but it should also work on other versions of Windows Vista.

    1. Export your RSS Feeds in Outlook 2007 by going to File, Import and Export, Export RSS Feeds to an OPML file. Select all the feeds and save them to your hard drive. You'll use this file to import the feeds in a later step.

    2. Close Outlook 2007.

    3. Start Outlook 2007 at the Start, Run by typing "Outlook /cleansharing" (without the quotes).

    4. Go to Tools, Account Settings and on the RSS Feeds tab verify that all your RSS feeds have been cleared. You'll notice that the data from your feeds still exist in the RSS Feeds folder in Outlook. Starting Outlook with the above switch will clear any Internet calendar subscriptions. In addition, it will also clear any subscriptions that you may have to the SharePoint sites.

    5. Delete the RSS Feed data folders in Outlook 2007. For example, if you're subscribing to any feeds from blogs, delete those folders so there are no subfolders left under the RSS Feeds folder.

    6. Wait for several minutes to ensure that everything is synchronized with the Exchange server.

    7. Import the OPML file that was saved in Step 1.

    8. Press F9 to do a Send/Receive All.

Hopefully, this will fix the problem.
