CompTIA To Raise Exam Fees


1/1/2002 -- The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) announced recently that it will raise the price of its certification exams on Feb. 1, 2002.

In the U.S., the cost of its A+ exams will rise from $132 to $139 on Feb. 1. Prices for other exams, including Network+, i-Net+ and Linux+, will rise from $190 to $199.

The last time CompTIA raised its exam fees was in January 2001, when it upped the priceapx. $5 US This time around, the increase will also effect several countries worldwide. For a complete list, click here.  -B.N.

6/30/02: Anonymous says: I hear the arguments on 'paper certs' with no experience. I too am a 'paper cert' with A plus, network plus, CNA, CNE. I agree! But the people with experience and have no certs should keep in mind, if your so smart, you go take a cert exam. Put your money where your mouth is.

2/17/03: arnab sinha from in says: CompTia exams r real costly we can have a + certifications at much cheaper rate from www.eta-sda.com there they called cst (certified system technician) which is equivalent to a + of CompTia
4/26/03: Jack says: The Fact that exam vouchers are being raised in price seems to always indicate that Certifications are no longer valued anymore. In order to recover from the lack of interest in sales they must raise prices.
