MOUS Office XP Beta Exams Announced

3/23/2001 -- Microsoft announced this week a registration program for candidates interested in taking beta versions of its upcoming Office XP exams.

Candidates who register through the Microsoft Web site have a chance to sit for one or more of four new Office XP beta exams that have been announced:

  • Microsoft Word 2002 Core
  •
  • Microsoft Excel 2002 Core
  •
  • Microsoft Word 2002 Expert
  •
  • Microsoft Excel 2002 Expert

According to the Microsoft Web site, testing will be conducted during May and June of this year at locations throughout the U.S. Not all registrants will be invited to participate -- selection will be based on location, industry,   and familiarity with Office XP Version 2002 applications, among other factors

The beta exams are free, although some testing centers may charge a fee of $10 to $15. Each beta exam will include 25 to 35 questions and will have a time limit of 90 minutes. According to Microsoft, those who pass their selected beta exam will become MOUS XP certified.

3/28/01: Ernesto says: This exams are distribuited for VUE?
3/29/01: Tamer says: Mous Exams so easy I was try this exams twice and I pass it
3/29/01: Becky says: Talal -- For more information, you can visit the official www.mous.net site, or use the link above. Ernesto -- Micosoft didn't release that info, but I believe traditionally MOUS exams aren't available through VUE or Prometric. However, check your local training center to make sure. There's some changes going on with the MOUS prgram, so it may be something that will happen (in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it did).
3/29/01: Becky says: Ernesto -- Just one more thing, in case you're interested: To find MOUS authorized testing centers, you can go to http://www.mous.net/testing/locator.asp
3/29/01: Wanda says: I just got my MS Certification in PowerPoint 2000 and Word 2000 (Core)....so will I have to start from scratch with MOUS XP? Seems like there ought to be a "tag on" test, rather than have to pay all over again. This could get expensive.
