Cisco Corrects CCIE Lab Change Announcement, Adds Routing & Switching Change


4/6/2004 -- Cisco recently announced that it posted incorrect information in regards to upcoming changes for its CCIE Security and Service Provider lab exams.

Cisco had previously said that the Security lab would be updated to PIX 6.3 on July 1. This is still correct, but the company said it will also be updating the IOS version to 12.2T.

As for the Service Provider lab, the IOS will still be updated on July 1, but the actual versions will be 12.2T on 2600 routers and 12.3T on 3600 and 3700 routers.

The company also announced that, on Aug. 1, it will update its Routing & Switching lab to IOS 12.2T.

As with previous announcements, the company said that candidates may seethe new IOSes installed in the lab before that time, but candidates will not be presented with questions covering the new features until the dates given above.

Money is fine, whatever, I want to know that I have the knowledge to do the job that I am hired to do. What they pay me to do that job is nice but not what its all about ... at least for the rair few of us that still do this cause we love it.
