A+ Mix-and-Match Grace Period to End June 30
3/10/2004 -- The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) announced last week that its grace period allowing candidates to mix-and-match 2001 and 2003 versions of its A+ Hardware and Operating Systems exams in order to earn the A+ credential will end June 30.
Although the 2001-version exams retired late last year, CompTIA has been allowing candidates who passed only one of the 2001 exams to finish the requirements by passing one 2003 exam.
Beginning July 1, both exams will need to be the 2003 versions.
"Ending this grace period helps to ensure that those earning CompTIA A+ in 2004 and beyond have demonstrated knowledge mastery that is current and relevant," the organization said on its Web site. "CompTIA urges all A+ candidates who have passed a 2001 Core Hardware or Operating Systems exam to make the most of the remaining grace period and schedule the remaining exam as soon as possible."

No worries, A+ is a cake no matter what revision, easiest piece of cake but with a catch, it's worth nothing too, this alone will get you anywhere. The only hard thing about it is the price while afterall it's worth nothing. Anyway if you can crank up some $200, just take it for a good start in your certification path. It'll get you going for the next one. |

A+ has value, a lot of employers require it. Your mom is cake. |

No, your Mom is. Since when that A+ got so much value? Yes they require it so if you don't have it you're out because everyone else has it. Requirement for A+ is a baseline that doesn't make you stand out AT ALL. It's that easy, piece of cake just like your granny. If there's anyone who failed this junk 3 times, they should just forget it and move on before wasting more money for this requirement crap, unless the company pays, just don't let them get ideas how you could possibly failed A+ 3 times. The only good thing is that it introduces you to "how sitting for an IT exam feels like", with the least or no headache and for the shortest time, 10 minutes is plenty. Good introduction but be better prepared for the next one. Good luck. |

Yes, you're all correct A+ is a piece of cake but so are MCPs, A+ is as easy an 1 mcp. Eight of these and you are mcse. Scary, i didn't think mcse was that easy. You todger pullers get real. A+ is difficult if you do it the right way. Cramming is easy... |
