5/25/2005 -- An updated version of Brocade's SAN Manager certification exam will go live in beta format June 10 at Pearson Vue testing centers worldwide.

According to Certification Manager Joe Cannata, the beta (exam #142-340) will consist of 179 questions and be a maximum of 4 hours in length. Those who pass the beta will be given credit toward certificaiton, although Brocade's Certified Fabric Professional title is also a prerequisite.

The code to use to take the beta for free is "bcsmbeta2005" (do not include quotes).

Brocade announced the update in March, stating that the exam has been updated to cover new technologies, including 4Gbit-per-second technologies.

A live date for the new exam has yet to be announced.
