3/23/2005 -- Brocade's certification program recently announced that it will be updating its Brocade Certified SAN Manager (BCSM) title in May, with a beta version of the exam to debut in June.

Joe Cannata, certification manager of Brocade Education, told CertCities.com that the exam will be updated to "reflect all current technology through the summer of this year,” including 4-Gbit per second technologies.

According to Cannata, the final version of the exam is scheduled to go live in late August.

Brocade currently offers three certifications for SAN professionals:

• Brocade Certified Fabric Professional (BCFP)
• Brocade Certified SAN Manager (BCSM)
• Brocade Certified SAN Designer (BCSD)

Brocade exams are available at Pearson Vue testing centers worldwide for $150 (U.S.) each.

Cannata told CertCities.com that the program has granted more than 4,300 certifications since its inception in November 2000, and he expects to see more growth this year thanks to "increased interest."
