Microsoft Offers Free Exam Retakes Worldwide

3/2/2005 -- Last summer, Microsoft Corporation field tested a promotion that gave test takers a free retake on a failed exam. The offer was limited to the U.S. and was available on a select number of exams. On Monday, the company announced that it was reviving the offer again this time allowing retakes on all of its Microsoft Certified Professional exams and expanding the program worldwide.

The "Second-Shot Offer" allows anyone taking and failing an MCP exam from March 1 until May 31 to retake that exam. According to the offer posted on the MCP site, candidates can retake an exam only once, but the retake can be applied to as many exams as a candidate can take until the offer ends.

Registration is required for candidates who want to participate. Also, exam retakes must be taken at the same testing center. Retakes must be completed by June 30. This offer cannot be combined with other offers. Other restrictions apply.

3/2/05: EdMen from Miami says: MS began to take pitty... In progress!
3/2/05: Manpreet from Toronto says: hey this an excellent idea !!!! Finally Microsoft thought of payback time for failed people who could not pass the exam earlier................ Bill Gates has a new idea of wooing people to write the MS exams !!!!!!!!!!!give me soem of you ur money Billy Boy!!!
3/2/05: Anonymous says: How come it's only for MCP? What about all the Office certs - MOS? Always the bridemaid, never the bride. And why is it for such a limited amount of time? It should be for there all the time. As long as you take the exam, you should have a chance at a second shot.
3/2/05: Anonymous says: MOS? gee, get a real cert... Just kidding.
3/2/05: must pass says: Perfect!!! I was always affried to fail the exams ;)
3/2/05: MOS Master Instructor from Boston says: Try passing Excel Expert, not to mention Access 2003 and then we'll talk! MOS is NOT a cake walk.
3/2/05: Anonymous says: To all the IT professionals who receive this newsletter and make comments like "MOS? gee, get a real cert...just kidding." is not a very professional way to address the needs of other professionals as myself, a MOS, in such a non professional way. These exams are easy and we have to work hard to pass these exams just like you. So, be professional and respect us as you would like to be respected
3/2/05: JoeBob from Tampa Florida says: Listen, this just marks a time when Microsoft is not generating any interest in their product. the Certs for MS products just aren't as popular as they were, they don't offer any perks or benefits that matter to anyone, they ruined their trainer program, and have ensured that no one is interested in a MS cert any longer. It's sad, since they, at one time, made being certified worthwhile, now, it's just an afterthought.
3/2/05: combined from OkC says: Anonymous must have missed the "... Just kidding." Brilliant! .......... *Toasting a third beer to M$*
