Two CompTIA Updates This Month
4/17/2002 -- As expected, the Computing Technology industry association (CompTIA) released its revised i-Net+ exam April 12. The exam code for the new version of its entry-level Internet certification is IK0-002. The old version (IKO-001) is scheduled to retire May 31, giving candidates some time to choose between the two versions. Objectives for the new exam can be found here.
The organization will also be launching a new version of its document-imaging certification, the CDIA+, on April 22. Note that there is no overlap offered with the old CDIA -- it will retire, in all language versions, on April 21. Objectives for the new CDIA can be found here.
Both exams are available through Vue and Prometric centers worldwide. Each costs $199 (U.S.). All CompTIA certifications are valid for life.
According to CompTIA, there are currently 7,000 i-Net+ certified professionals worldwide. The number of CDIAs was not provided.
