Macromedia Retiring Web Developer Cert

1/23/2002 -- Macromedia announced that it will be retiring its Certified Web Developer (CWD) title on June 30.

Allaire originally debuted the title a little under a year ago, right before the company's merger with Macromedia.

On its Web site, Macromedia gave no reason for the retirement, although it did say it will give all former CWDs a free voucher for the company's new Dreamweaver 4.0 certification.

The other title Macromedia acquired from Allaire, Cold Fusion Developer, will remain available.
