I am having this error message: The Farm Metric Server is unlicensed.

I logged into Citrix Support site: http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX101900

but I don't understand their explanation because I am running Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 and I am being told Resource Manager is available to Metaframe XPe Customers only.

I don't know if I have XPe, XPs or XPa licenses but I need to get this resolve before I am shown the door.

Does anyone have any idea on how this could be resolved?

I don't know much of anything about Citrix... but this link seems to indicate that Resource Manager is available even in 4.0.

If that fixes your problem, my fee is $150 USD per hour, with a one-hour minimum. :D

Just kidding. :)

Man I am like you. Not so good with Citrix and I have had absolutely no training on Citrix. I am a Cisco guy and my boss just wakes up less than 2 months ago and gives me close to 1000 pages of a Citrix Installation guide to read through it and develop an action plan to do a proof of concept for a client in under three days.

I am running Resource Manager but I don't get to understand where I can get the server licensed.

That's my problem at the moment.

We do have one major difference between us...

...I'm not expected to administer Citrix servers. ;)

Wish I could help you. Have you tried Citrix's support forums?

Yeah!!! I have sweated with the Citrix Support site but I just need someone to tell me the difference between the presentation server I have (4.5) and XPe.

Too bad working for crazy managers. I think I should start my own IT consulting firm.

In Citrix Presentation server you have a Citrix License server. You will need to the load license files on this server, there is a startup license file and user connection licenses, these licenses will determine if you have Presentation Server Enterprise which is the only version that offers Resource Manager. Call Citrix Customer Care they can help you with licensing issues free of charge. Or this document may help you determine the version of licenses you have http://support.citrix.com/servlet/KbServlet/download/11183-1 02-17342/migrating_and_upgrading.pdf
