Cisco Updates Storage Specialist Certs
10/31/2005 -- Cisco Systems announced last Tuesday it has updated its Cisco Storage Networking Design and Cisco Storage Networking Support Specialist certifications to better cover its new SAN Operating System 2.0.
Each of the one-exam titles will now focus on the new SAN-OS. Other new topics include the Cisco 9216 Fabric Switch, Dynamic Port VSAN Membership, Distributed Device Alias Service, Zone-based QoS and steps to set up time-out values.
Candidates should also expect to know how to configure the Microsoft Windows 2000 IAS Radius Server, add Network Time Protocol (NTP), and distribute Authentication, Authorization and Accounting (AAA) services.
The new exams are:
- Cisco Storage Networking Design Specialist: 642-353 CSNDS
- Cisco Storage Networking Support Specialist: 642-354 CSNSS
Those who prefer to take the old versions of the exams may do so until Jan. 17, 2006, for the 642-351 CSNDS Design exam, and Jan. 26, 2006, for the 642-352 CSNSS Support exam.
