BSD Cert Moves Forward

10/17/2005 -- The BSD Certification Group (BSDCertification.org) announced this month that objectives are now available for its upcoming BSD Associate (BSDA) certification.

The objectives are available in PDF format here. "In this document we identify areas where there are differences and similarities for the BSDs, so common concepts can be learned as well as by what specific implementations each of the systems achieves their feature standout," commented Hubert Feyrer, a member of the BSD Certification Group. The objectives are based on a usage survey sent out last month.

The group is a non-profit community effort formed to create a BSD-focused certification program. The BDSA, its first certification, is scheduled to launch in the second quarter of 2006.

The organization released a roadmap for its certification program in August.
