RFID+ Beta Coming Oct. 31

10/17/2005 -- The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) recently announced that a beta version of its upcoming RFID+ exam will launch Oct. 31.

Candidates interested in taking the beta (RF1-001), which will feature 115 questions and a two-hour time limit, can register through Pearson Vue and Prometric testing centers worldwide. It will cost $75 (U.S.), a 66 percent discount off the final price of $225 (U.S.).

Objectives for the beta can be found here. Those who pass the beta will earn the RFID+ credential.

CompTIA announced that it was working on a vendor-neutral, entry-level certification covering radio frequency identification technologies last year. It has yet to announce the release date for the final exam.
