CompTIA Exams Now Eligible for G.I. Reimbursement

9/7/2005 -- The Computing Technology Industry Association announced last week that veterans and eligible dependents may now use their G.I. bill benefits to cover the full cost of CompTIA certification exams.

The organization offers a number of vendor-neutral certifications, including A+, Network+, Security+ and Linux+.

According to CompTIA, the U.S. Department of Veteran's Affairs has approved full reimbursement for the cost of the exams, and there is no limit to the number of tests that can be taken, as long as an individual does not exceed the maximum amount of entitlement as set by the reimbursement program.

CompTIA said that the licensing and certification benefit is payable under Chapter 30 (Montgomery G.I. Bill -- Active Duty), 32 (VEAP) and 35 (Dependents' Educational Assistance) of Title 30 and section 903 of PL 96-342. The benefit is not payable under Chapter 1606 of Title 10 (Montgomery G.I. Bill -- Selected Reserve).
