Sun To Launch Associate-Level Java Cert
6/20/2005 -- Sun Microsystems recently announced that it is developing an entry-level title for its Java certification program.
The company currently offers several levels of Java credentials, including Programmer, Developer and Architect. The Sun Certified Java Associate will be the company's first entry-level Java title.
Sun has yet to officially announce the new certification. However, according to its Web site, the company recently closed registration for a beta version of the title's exam: Sun Certified Associate for the Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition, Version 1.0 (exam #311-019).
Sun recommended that candidates have at least six-months "exposure" to Java for the title.
A live date for the Associate title has yet to be announced.
