Microsoft Offering Free Trial of Office XP


4/3/2001 -- Need some hands-on experience for those upcoming MOUS Office XP betas? Microsoft is currently offering U.S. customers a free "trial" version of Office XP.

Consumers must pay a $9.95 shipping and handling fee to receive the 30-day version of the upcoming Professional suite (see below). It can be ordered at http://www.microsoft.com/office/trial/default.htm.

Microsoft also announced further details on the retail versions of Office XP, which will hit stores May 31:

Microsoft Office XP Standard Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint 2002 $239 $479

Microsoft Office XP Professional

All of above plus Access 2002 $329 $579

All of the above plus FrontPage 2002, SharePoint Team Services, Publisher 2002, Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer.
