CompTIA Launches CDIA+ Beta, Offers Project+ Discount
6/7/2005 -- On Friday, June 3, the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) launched a beta exam for its CDIA+ certification, its credential for IT professionals who work with imaging technology.
The beta (226-030) consists of 95 questions and lasts 120 minutes. The content has been updated to reflect "new technologies as well as changing job tasks and knowledge requirements for professionals in the document imaging and management field," the organization said. Objectives can be downloaded from CompTIA's Web site here.
The beta will be available for a "limited time" and Pearson Vue and Prometric testing centers worldwide, CompTIA said. The price is $75 (U.S.), a 66 percent discount off the normal exam price. As an incentive for participation, all beta takers will also be offered a 30 percent discount off the organization's Project+ exam.
Those who pass the beta will become CDIA+ certified.
CDIA+ was last updated in 2002. The changes do not affect those already CDIA+ certified, as CompTIA's certifications do not need to be renewed.
According to CompTIA, more than 4,600 people worldwide are CDIA+ certified.
