CompTIA Offers Up Expiring A+ Vouchers

4/27/2005 -- The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) has an inventory of discount vouchers for A+ exams that are on the verge of expiring, the certification vendor told CertCities. So, CompTIA wants to unload them at even deeper discounts to anyone who plans to take the A+ in the next few weeks.

Fee for the A+ exam retails at $145 (U.S.) for non-members, but CompTIA members can shave off as much as $65 with an expiring voucher, which can be used at any Pearson VUE or Thomson Prometric testing center worldwide. (Some CompTIA partners often provide discount vouchers of around 10 to 15 percent off retail.)

Exam pricing with vouchers that expire on May 8 is $80 for members, $105 for non-members. Vouchers expiring on May 31 can reduce exam fees to $90 for members, $115 for non-members. CompTIA limits the offer to four vouchers per person.

The CompTIA A+ is an entry-level computer service technician certification. CompTIA says that more than 500,000 people have obtained the certification to date. -Michael Domingo

4/27/05: Anonymous says: very informative article
4/27/05: Here's a Better Deal from Ft. Lauderdale says: Individual membership is something like $50, so these "member" vouchers are really almost $130. You can get A+ vouchers for only $87 at examcram2.com and you have a year before they expire AND you don't have to pay $50 to be a CompTIA member.
4/27/05: Anonymous says: The individual CompTIA membership does not qualify for the discount your company needs to be a Corp member.
4/28/05: Canamjay from Oceanside says: Last messge from Anonymous is not correct. Individual memberships qualify.
4/28/05: Anonymous says: CompTIA offer is still expensive. I can get cheaper from GetCertify4Less.com Hopefully some day comptia exams will be FREE as special promotion to their members.
4/29/05: Anonymous says: If someone wants to qualify for a CompTIA member discount, they can only do that through an organizational membership not the individual membership or ITPro. ITPro makes available one 25% discount off of the non-member price (A+=$145). When CompTIA speaks of membership it only means the organization membership not the individual I assure you.
4/30/05: Robert L from Bronx, New York says: Thanks for letting me know about the COMPTIA vouchers and that they are not for me ...the individual. I'll search for the discount at other sites geared towards giving aspiring individuals like me a discount
5/2/05: Tanveer Qamar from Patna says: I have been given examination of 70-210 but cannot received certificate. Please, kindly suggest me to take own certificate.
5/3/05: Jav from Fort Lauderdale says: How about we don't worry so much about how much the price costs? When you add up the price of the tests and get a job in the industry, that shows proof that you're getting paid for the tests and effort put into it. Also if you add the amount of money it costs for the test .. the fact that you never have to recertify for this test and divide that by the amount of time left in your life in the IT industry, you've actually paid pennies to get certified. These tests can be a little tough but with good practice and persistance anyone can pass these tests on the first shot. Good luck to anyone going for them .. I just finished my tests April 22nd now I'm certified ... it was a great feeling walking out of there knowing how hard I had practiced for them. Definetly went to Benihanas that night and had a couple of bottles of Saki to celebrate!
5/5/05: Muhsin from Pakistan says: Sir want to take addmission in A+ certification
