HDI To Create Team Lead Certification
4/19/2005 -- Last week the Help Desk Institute (HDI) announced that it is planning to add a Team Lead title to its line of help desk certifications.
The organization currently offers three help desk credentials: HDI Customer Support Specialist (HDI CSS), HDI Help Desk Analyst (HDA) and HDI Help Desk Manager (HDI HDM). The new Help Desk Team Lead (HDTL) will be for "senior analysts on a management career path" and cover "leadership skills, concepts, business processes and technology skills needed for day-to-day operations," the company said.
It expects to launch the new title in March 2006. Currently, it is seeking high-level help desk professionals to help create the standards and objectives for this new certification.
HDI is a membership organization for help desk professionals, with more than 7,500 members worldwide.
