3/16/2005 -- Those interested in earning a Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) certification this year have until the end of this month to register for the organization's upcoming exam day, June 11.

ISACA offers two certifications for IT security professionals:

• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA): Covering IS auditing, control and security.
• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM): Focuses on on the "big picture" of managing IS in the enterprise.

To earn either certification, candidates must pass one of the organization's paper-based exams, offered only one day a year through more than 220 locations worldwide. The exams range from $385 to $505 (U.S.) depending on the exam chosen, registration method and whether the candidate is a member of the ISACA.

According to ISACA, more than 38,000 people worldwide have earned the CISA and more than 5,000 have earned the CISM.
