TCPMag.com Releases Salary Survey of Cisco Professionals
3/8/2001 -- Ever hear that CCIE's make six figures? You've heard right according to a salary survey released today by TCPMag.com.
According to the survey, holder's of Cisco's premier title, the CCIE, who have three to nine years of industry experience average a base salary $115, 400 per year. Those with CCNA's, Cisco's entry-level and most popular certification, and three to nine years of experience average $69,900.
The next highest-earning title after CCIEs were CCNPs, who reported an average base salary of $79,500. That's followed closely by CCDPs at $78,800, and CCDAs, who reported earning an average of $74,400.
The salary survey goes on to compare bonuses and other compensation based on certification(s) held, and offers average salary breakdowns by region, title and years of experience.
To gather the results, TCPMag.com surveyed more than 1,000 U.S.-based Cisco certified professionals in October 2000. Cisco itself is not associated with the survey, although it did provide a link to the survey questionnaire on its Web site.
