Check Point Exams Available Through VUE

3/8/2001 -- Last week, certification exam provider VUE announced that it has signed an agreement with Check Point Software Technologies to be the sole provider of Check Point's certification exams.

Check Point, which offers certifications relating to its network security, traffic management and IP address management products, currently delivers its suite of exams via 240 in-house locations. By the end of March, Check Point exams will be available through VUE's network of 2,500 testing centers worldwide, including the U.S., the Netherlands, Australia, China, India and Japan.

3/9/01: James says: It would be really great if Checkpoint got in line with the industry trend and did not require someone to take the class before getting certified. There are lots of individuals whose company does not pay...
3/13/01: Les says: James, You don't have to take their class to take the exams. That isn't written anywhere, and it isn't Check Point's policy. I took their training for 4.0, but not 4.1/CP2000 and still took the exams, no problems. What gave you the impression this was required? The fact you could only take the exam at a Check Point training center? This deal with VUE will change that impression, I'm sure.
3/13/01: Becky says: Thanks for pointing that out, Les! For some reason, I had the same impression as James, but you're right -- the Check Point Web site clearly states that self study is fine.
3/14/01: Matt says: What does a checkpoint certified employee make?
3/22/01: sunil says: java no value for market
3/25/01: SHAILENDRA says: PLEASE TELL ME JAVA 2 IS OUT OF DATE, SUN JAVA CERTIFICAITION IS OF NO USE? pLEASE HELP ME/
