New Sun Web Services Developer Title Now Live

7/21/2004 -- Sun Microsystems recently announced that its latest certification, Sun Certified Developer for Java Web Services (SCDJWS), is now live.

The title, announced in April, certifies developers' skills in creating Web services applications using Java technology components. Candidates must be certified as Sun Certified Java Programmers (SCJPs) before pursuing the title.

The title's one exam, CX-310-220, is now available at Prometric and Pearson Vue testing centers worldwide for $150 (U.S.). Detailed objectives for the exam can be found here. Optional training courses are also now live.

More information on the SCDJWS and how it fits into Sun's certification program can be found here. -- Becky Nagel
