7/21/2004 -- IBM recently announced that its Lotus Certified Professional program will soon expand to include titles focused on its Workplace family of products.

The first two exams to debut in this certification track will be:

• 820: Implementing and Administering IBM Lotus Workplace Messaging 2
• 830: Developing Web sites Using IBM Lotus Workplace Web Content Management 2 with Java

These two exams are scheduled to debut in August. IBM has not yet released official objectives for these exams, but general guides have been released and are available here.

Information on exactly what titles will be granted to those who pass these exams was not available by press time.

According to the Lotus Web site, the company plans to add additional exams to this track as the program grows. Dates and focus areas have yet to be announced.
