Citrix Betas New CCEA Exam

7/14/2004 -- Citrix Systems recently announced a free beta for a new Citrix Certified Enterprise Administrator (CCEA) exam: Citrix MetaFrame Secure Access Manager 2.2, Administration (1Y1-722).

According to the company, the exam focuses on the Access Management Console, configuration of CDAs, and troubleshooting in MetaFrame Secure Access Manager 2.2, with emphasis on the software's new features. When live, the exam will replace the current Secure Access exam, 721, as one of four exams needed to earn the title.

The beta is available at Prometric testing centers worldwide through July 30. It consists of 181 questions with a time limit of three hours. Those who pass the beta do receive credit toward certification.

Runs until late-August.

I am not a fan per say of Citrix's exam policys, such as releasing new exams for feature releases and decertifying people, but if more people took the free betas they might save some money. I prepared very little for the exams other than setting them up in a lab and playing with the administrative interfaces. I see a lot of people are saying they will not seek Citrix certification from this point on. I welcome your departure because despite what anyone says, they do have a solid license base and with less certified, experienced folks out there, my opportunities increase with every transition to Jetro (which is a passing fancy, just as New Moon and Tarantella)
