Vue, Voucher Site Offer A+ Exams for $92; Retakes for $58
7/14/2004 -- Pearson Vue testing centers, discount exam voucher site GetCertify4Less.com and the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) have come together on a promotion that allows anyone who purchases discounted A+ exam vouchers from GetCertify4Less.com and fails their exam to retake it for U.S. $58.
To qualify, candidates must purchase their original exam voucher from GetCertify4less.com, which currently is pricing them at $92 (in the U.S.) or $130 (international), bundled with a study guide. Candidates must then take an A+ exam at a Pearson Vue testing center before Aug. 30. If the test is failed, the candidate can then go back to GetCerify4Less.com and purchase the $58 retake voucher. The retake voucher must be used at a Pearson Vue center before Sept. 30.
CompTIA's A+ exams normally cost U.S. $145 each for non-members. The organization allows some partners to purchase bulk vouchers for discount sales, as long as the vouchers are "bundled" with other items, such as a study guide.
A+, CompTIA's flagship entry-level computer hardware certification, requires passing two exams: Core and Operating Systems. The vouchers sold through this promotion may be used for either A+ exam, but the retake offer is limited to one exam and one failure.
