Oracle Retiring App. Developer 1 Track
2/9/2001 -- Oracle announced recently that it will officially retire the Oracle Certified Application Developer track for Developer/2000 Release 1 on July 31, 2001. OCP candidates following the Release 1 certification track will have until July 31 to complete the required core exams.
According to the Oracle Web site, all OCPs certified in Release 1 will continue to retain the credential after the track is retired.
Candidates who wish to upgrade can either directly exam to the most recent track, 6/6i, or alternatively can upgrade to Release 2, which offers an automatic grandfathering to the 6/6i title. Both paths offer a single upgrade exam.
