IBM Updates Tivoli Cert, Extends xSeries Recert

8/27/2003 --

IBM announced this week that it will be releasing a new version of its IBM Certified Deployment Professional, Tivoli Workload Scheduler title next month.

The exam for the new version, 8.2, will debut on Sept. 3. The current exam, version 7.0, will retire on Sept. 30.

More information about this update can be found here.

In other IBM certification news, the company has decided to extend its deadline for updating eserver xSeries certifications to Dec. 31, 2003. Previously, candidates were required to update their titles by this weekend. IBM gave no reason for the extension.

More information on this announcement can be found here. -Becky Nagel

9/8/03: Anonymous says: I think IBM might have decided to extend the certification update for the eServer xSeries because a lot of their current certtification holders are probably not updating? I'm one of those. They used to allow you to take the update exams for free (over the web), and update materials were provided. But I guess in the given economy, they've dropped those two things. I currently find no major need to be an IBM eServer xSerices CSE right now--not worth the money...
