Citrix Retires Exams, Issues CCA De-Certification Warning

1/22/2001 -- This month Citrix announced that two exams, Citrix WinFrame 1.7 Enterprise Certification exam # 171 (any revision) and Citrix MetaFrame Certification exam #302 (for MetaFrame 1.0), have been retired, and that CCAs who have taken these exams must upgrade to the latest version or face de-certification.

"If your CCA certification status is affected by either of these retirements, you will have until June 31, 2001 to pass the necessary replacement exams to keep your certification current," the Citrix Web site states.

Citrix announces its exam retirements twice per year, and gives candidates six months to complete the replacement exams.

Regarding the retirements, Citrix says on its Web site, "Citrix is committed to maintaining the value and relevance of the Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA) and all its certifications as current and valuable IT certifications. To fulfill this commitment the requirements of the Citrix certifications are continually reviewed as new Citrix technologies are developed and released...Having current credentials provides assurance that CCAs are proficient on current products to both their employers and customers and CCAs are encouraged to keep their certifications as current as possible."
