New Sun Java Cert To Launch in Sept.

8/13/2003 -- Sun Microsystems recently announced that its newest Java certification, Sun Certified Business Component Developer for the Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition, will debut in Sept.

The title premiered in beta format in June.

A specific launch date was not given. When live, the certification's exam, #310-090, will be available at Pearson Vue and Prometric testing centers worldwide for $125 (U.S.). Objectives for the exam are now available on Sun's Web site here.

Candidates must hold a current Sun Certified Java Programmer credential to obtain the new title.

8/14/03: Anonymous says: I think you better lay off the Molson...Eh. Java Development is one of the largest in demand skills out there now...Eh. Better yet drink more Molson and go watch a hockey game...Eh...and get out of the IT field...Eh. Canada's most famous contibutions to the universe: Canadian Bacon, Hockey, and Jim Carey.
8/14/03: I am Canadian says: Anonymous 2 Drink some Molson, and have a good time!!! Oh yeah, VERY FEW people say "EH" just to let you know. Mostly the older people. So put that in your head EH!!! Drink Molson and have a good time! Java is getting old, time to look forward to better techs. Just to add more knowledge to your head about canadians......Canada spends alot of money in academics, therefore Canada has one of the most smartest IT molson drinkin geeks out there. I AM CANADIAN!!!!!
8/14/03: George Bush says: Damn straight! Canada is America's best ally therefore we must work together with Canada. Anonymous 2 I will have you shot in the head, Canada contributes pretty much 80% than other countries. GOD BLESS CANADA. Lets drink Molson!

8/15/03: obvserver says: Are you guys discussing Java or beer? No wonder the U.S. is in the rut it's in..."Homeland Security" contracting MCSE's to set up a counrty-wide Windows only computer infrastructure...go figure.
8/18/03: Peter from New York says: Microsoft dominates the IT field. What a big *ss company. And there goes the new Sun Java certification. ~sigh~ Let's just drink Molson.
8/19/03: Anonymous says: All that money Canada spends on academics and you morons still can't spell, eh.
8/20/03: Pete from Canada says: Some things to think about: 1) James Gosling the creator of Java is Canadian. 2) Certs from SUN are difficult and therefore carry more weight than ... (and they make you feel better too - after you pass) 3) Microsoft .NET platform is struggling vs. J2EE. Unless MS does something to arrest the trend, in the not so distant future it might be java-linux (or for those with money: java-solaris). VB might turn out to be the next fox pro. Csharp of course is a mere copycat. Finally, IMO the best beer in the world is San Miguel Beer.
