Lotus Offers 3 Free Beta Exams, 4 Half-Price Tests
2/6/2003 -- As first reported last September on CertCities.com, the following Notes Domino 6 tests are available for half price while in beta. Passing them counts toward certification. For the Application Development path, these beta tests are being offered:
- 610 Notes Domino 6 Application Development Foundation Skills
- 611 Notes Domino 6 Application Development Intermediate Skills
For the System Administration path, these tests are available:
- 620 Notes Domino 6 System Administration Operating Fundamentals
- 621 Notes Domino 6: Building the Infrastructure
Completing 610 or 620 qualifies candidates for the Certified Lotus Specialist credential. Finishing both exams gets candidates two-thirds of the way toward the Certified Lotus Professional title. To complete the title, application developers need to add 612, Notes Domino 6: Developing Web Applications. Systems administrators will also need to pass 622, Notes Domino6: Managing Servers and Users. At the time of this writing, neither 612 nor 622 were yet available. To learn more about those exams, visit Lotus here.
The company is also offering three Collaborative Solutions betas for free. Each by itself earns the successful candidate a CLS title.
Exam 531, Administering QuickPlace 3, was available starting December 2. At this date it's still available in beta form.
Exam 561, Developing Instant Collaborative Applications with QuickPlace 3, began beta on December 26.
Exam 572, Developing Web Applications in Sametime 3, was released in beta on January 14.
Tests 561 and 572, combined with one other developer exam, can lead to a Certified Lotus Professional credential. Likewise, 531 combined with two of three other administration-oriented exams can lead to the CLP as well. Learn more here.
