LPI Offering $20 Exam Discount Through Prometric

10/30/2002 -- Want $20 off your Linux Professional Institute exam? Then register with Prometric after Oct. 31.

From November 1 through April 30, Prometric will automatically deduct $20 from the price of all LPI exams for North American candidates who register by phone or online through its Web site, www.2test.com.

The normal price for LPI exams is $100 U.S.

This six-month joint promotion, beginning November 1st, encourages those who are considering sitting for the exams to take advantage of the reduced price, the president of the nonprofit LPI, Evan Leibovitch, said in a printed statement announcing the discount.. Since Linux is fast becoming part of mainstream corporate America, it should motivate Linux professionals to take the plunge because technical certifications like LPIs are now critical prerequisites for many companies looking to employ IT professionals.

Our joint promotion is part of Prometrics continuing efforts to expand the relevance and reach of Information Technology certifications in todays competitive marketplace, said Alison Indrisano, Prometrics senior vice president of client services and support.

LPI exams are available through both Vue and Prometric testing centers. No discount has been announced through Vue, or for international candidates.
