Sage Accepts Linux+ as Requirement
10/9/2002 -- Sage announced earlier this month that CompTIA's Linux+ exam can now count toward the organization's cSage certification.
Before this agreement, candidates were previously required to pass both cSage's core and Unix module exam to achieve the junior-level, vendor-neutral Unix title. Now, Linux+ can be substituted for the Unix module.
"This new combination of the cSAGE core and the Linux+ allows system administrators more flexibility and the potential to certify with two respected non-profit associations at a significantly reduced cost," the companies said in a joint statement.
Both programs are vendor-neutral certifications. CompTIA is an industry organization known for its entry-level certifications, such as A+. Sage is a systems administrator's guild associated with USENIX.
