Oracle Announces Application Server Certs

9/10/2002 -- Oracle will soon be launching an Application Server certification program.

Few details on the track as a whole have been released, but Oracle did announce the name of the tiered-track's first level of certification -- Oracle 9i AS Web Administrator Certified Associate. The one exam need to achieve this title, Oracle 9i AS Basic Administration, will be available in beta format beginning on Oct. 1 and will cost $50. To register, candidates must e-mail with the subject line "Oracle 9i AS Beta Exam."

Training is not required to achieve this first level of certification. Oracle does not say on its Web site whether it will require instructor-led training for the higher-level tiers in this track, as it does with its OCP DBA program.
