5/15/2002 -- A spokesperson for Compaq confirmed to CertCities.com Monday that discussions are currently underway for integrating Compaq's and Hewlett Packard's certification programs.

While she could not comment on any details, Barbara Sandro, marketing manager for the Compaq Accredited Professional Program, a part of the new HP, verified that an integration team is currently discussing the future of the two programs in light of the merger.

She did say that, in the meantime, Compaq's Accredited Professional program is operating as usual. "[We are] still awarding certifications under the Compaq name, still using our own branding," Sandro said. "We were told to do this until something official is announced."
