Lotus To Retire 4x Exams

4/24/2002 -- Lotus recently announced that it will be retiring its Release 4 exams on Sept. 30.

According to a program newsletter sent earlier this month, the following exams will be affected by this announcement:

  • 190-271 Notes Application Development 1 R4
  • 190-272 Notes Application Development 2 R4
  • 190-274 Notes System Administration 1 R4
  • 190-275 Notes System Administration 2 R4
  • 190-276 Administrating Specialized Tasks for Domino 4.5
  • 190-278 Developing Domino Applications for the Web
  • 190-281 Domino Web Development and Administration
  • 190-311 Domino Messaging Administration 4.6
  • 190-312 Domino Applications Administration 4.6

The newsletter says that Lotus is shelving the 4x in anticipation of Lotus Notes/Domino 6, scheduled to be released later this summer.

Those who have yet to upgrade their Lotus certification to version 5 are being encouraged to do so by the deadline above. Candidates who don't will remain certified in 4. - B.N.
