Citrix CCEA XP Exam Beta Status

10/11/2001 -- Citrix Systems recently revealed to CertCities.com the status of its upcoming XP exams for its Citrix Certified Enterprise Administrator (CCEA) title:

  • Exam 941: Citrix Load Management and Citrix Program Neighborhood currently in Beta
  • Exam 911: Citrix Resource Manager and Exam 921: Citrix Installation Manager Will go into beta on Oct. 22. Registration begins Oct. 19.
  • Exam 951 Citrix NFuse Beta complete; will be released in late October.

Candidates interested in participating in these betas can register with Prometric via phone (no Web registration available). There is no charge to take these exams in beta format.

Also, to clarify a point previously published on CertCities.com, Citrix told us that CCEAs are not required and never have been required to take the corresponding training in order to earn the CCEA. Although the only way to get the official courseware for the exams is to take the classes, one can become a CCEA without them, Citrix said.

10/19/01: Anonymous says: Citrix need to provide more training center and third party materials
12/4/01: Anonymous says: I am a CCEA in MF 1.8. I am also a CCA in MF XP, having passed the exam while still in beta. Personally I am disillusioned by Citrix. CCEA benefits are NIL. We don't even get told when new exams are in Beta. I won't be keeping this worthless accreditation up to date.
12/17/01: Anonymous says: I've got exactly the same accrediations, and I agree that you get zip from Citrix as a benefit other than a little metal badge. However, I SHALL be keeping it up-to-date becuause (a) my company pays for my training/exams (b) Microsoft gives my nothing for my MCSE either (c) it keeps my CV looking good.
12/18/01: Anonymous says: I've bought the Exam Cram CCEA book, and have used the Product Documentation for each component of the CCEA, and have acheived certification in 13 days, having never used IMS or RMS. RMS exam took me 8 minutes, Secure ICA 14 minutes, IMS 10 minutes, and Load balancing 11 minutes. This needs to be made a lot harder before it can be used as a measure of someones abilities. Having said that, it's worth doing because most employers don't know, and they like to see logos and acronyms. MCP MCP+I MCSE (4+2000) MCDBA CCA CCEA TWAT
1/10/02: Anonymous says: Note for Anonymous immediately above... T.W.A.T. is correct. Any idiot can pass any exam with little effort using exam crams and brain dumps. I'd just love to see you deal with a real-world Citrix environment. Those of us who've EARNED our CCEA the 'proper' way and done so because it's relevant rather than just another set of letters get a bad name from idiots like you - you are the exact kind of books and paper twat that has so wrecked the MCSE and turned it from a premier certification into an entry level certification. Grow up, and stop giving the rest of us a bad name
2/19/02: anonymous says: Note for Anonymous immediately above: If the exams weren't so pitifully easy, then idiots like the anonymous above you wouldn't stand a chance. It's good that people like this expose the exam sham for what it is - don't percieve them as threats, because they couldn't do your job if their life depended on it. however, they could TAKE your job and your pay and your prestige... The whole exam system needs a shake up before employers start realising that anyone can get these creds, and start dropping the rates.
11/20/02: shane says: Hey I'm looking for some good study materials for passing the CCEA tests. My boss is giving me some trouble purchasing the course ware so what do you guys suggest. Is exam cram sufficent or is there some kind of good site to look for to find info. Thanks, Shane MCSE, CCNA, CCA.
12/24/02: Harry from London says: Hi.. I have done CCA in Citrix 1.8 & i implemented in Citrix Xp in place .. but now i am with out job... can u please help me. Thanks & Regards, Harry
