LPI Level 1 Exams Go Live; Offer Immediate Results
11/3/2000 -- Canadian-based Linux Professional Institute announced today the "live and complete" publication" of both its Level 1 exams.
Candidates taking either exam 101 or exam 102 will now receive immediate pass-fail results, the company said. Both exams are required to obtain LPI's first-level Linux certification.
According to LPI its certification is vendor neutral; the exams don't favor one flavor of Linux over another.
Dan York, president of LPI, said in a printed statement that LPI has begun development of its Level 2 certification. The company is also working on translations of its exams into several languages, including French, German, Greek, Japanese and Polish.
LPI exams are currently available through VUE testing centers. Each exam costs $100.
