8/15/2001 -- Novell recently announced that its new proficiency certificate program will launch during the fourth quarter of this year.

According to the company's Web site, the first proficiency certificates that will become available during this time frame are:

• DirXML
• GroupWise
• TCP/IP
• Project Management
• ZENworks
• Integrating NDS eDirectory

Novell originally announced this new certificate program in June. It allows candidates to pass a single exam and receive a proficiency certificate in that specific area. Exams can still count towards a full-fledged Novell certification title, such as the Certified Network Engineer (CNE).
