AWP Endorses i-Net+ as First Step Towards Its Web Technician, Designer Certifications
11/1/2000 -- Canadian-based Association of Web Professionals (AWP) announced last week that it is endorsing CompTIA's i-Net+ designation as a recommended first step for those seeking AWP's Web technician or designer certification.
While the certification is not required, AWP said in a printed statement that it is making the recommendation because "i-Net+ ...covers the basic fundamentals of both the technical and design aspects of Web site development and maintenance."
i-Net+ is considered a baseline certification for entry-level Internet professionals (e.g., six months experience or less). For an overview of the skills this certification tests, please see: http://certcities.com/editorial/exams/story.asp?EditorialsID=9.
Earlier this year, IBM publicly recommended i-Net+ as a prerequisite for those pursuing its e-Business certification. Intel accepts i-Net+ as a baseline requirement for its Intel Certified Integration Specialist e-Business Implementation (ICIS) certification.
