Wireless Networking Certs Debut


7/11/2001 -- On Monday, wireless networking service provider Planet3 Wireless officially announced the launch of the company's new Certified Wireless Networking Professional (CWNP) certification program.

The program is designed to certify the skills of network engineers who implement and administer wireless LAN equipment from a variety of manufacturers. It features four levels of certification:

  • Administrator (CWNA) -- One standard exam
  • Integrator (CWNI) -- One standard exam.
  • Engineer (CWNE) -- One-day, hands-on lab exam.
  • Trainer (CWNT) -- Trainer experience, plus pass exam(s) at 80 percent or higher.

The only exam currently available for this program is the CWNA exam, although details on the rest can be found on the CWNP Web site.. Prometric will proctor all CWNP exams.
