Sun Publishes Details on New Cert
7/11/2001 -- Last week, Sun Microsystems published details about its new Java Web Component Developer certification on its Web site. The title is designed to certify a candidate's skill in "constructing large-scale J2EE technology-compliant e-commerce applications."
As reported earlier by CertCities, Sun announced the new certification in June at its Java One conference in San Francisco, where the exam underwent beta testing. However, this is the first time complete details about the title has been made available from Sun.
According to the Web site, the title's corresponding exam will be available in its final version July 31. Candidates must hold Sun's Certified Java Programmer (SCJP) certification before attempting the Web Component exam.
