MySQL Launches Cluster Certification

4/13/2007 -- Last month MySQL AB announced a new, higher-level MySQL certification for the 5.x version of the database.

According to the company's Web site, the new MySQL 5.1 Cluster DBA Certification (CMCDBA) is a "specialization exam for those that design, deploy and administer MySQL Cluster setups" that "represents an advancement level exceeding" the base-level MySQL certification.

To become a CMCDBA, candidates must first earn the MySQL 5.0 certification for DBAs (two exams), then pass the advanced title's one exam.

MySQL exams are available at Pearson Vue testing centers worldwide. Bulk voucher discounts are available.

More information about this certification can be found here. -Becky Nagel
