Cisco CCNP & CCDP Specializations Officially Retired
5/30/2001 -- As of May 15, 2001, Cisco has officially retired all CCNP and CCDP Specialization certifications.
The company announced that the retirements were coming a few months ago. In their place, Cisco is offering new Cisco Qualified Specialist designations. According to the Cisco Web site, most of the specializations previously offered have been replaced by new Qualified Specialist tracks.
For those who previously earned a CCNP or CCDP specialization, the titles will "remain active for two years from the date achieved. There will be no recertification option," the site states.
