HP Revamps, Launches New Hardware Certs

11/8/2006 -- Hewlett Packard recently announced it added a new category of certification as well as renamed and regrouped several others.

The new focus area, Hardware Support, currently offers titles related to hardware maintenance and repair, and has been designed to "greatly simplify partner authorization for printer maintenance and support work," the company said. It currently offers one main level of certification, HP Accredited Platform Specialist, in which candidates can choose from several tracks.

The company also reorganized its existing titles under five other categories: Systems Integration, Systems Development and Systems Administration, Sales and Presales. The "System" categories are new names of previous categories.
