5/17/2006 -- Oracle recently announced that the exam for its top-level Oracle 10g Database Certified Master credential is now available for registration.

The two-day, hands-on exam, which costs $2,000 (U.S.), is being made available via a traveling tour through various cities across the United States. For example, in June, the exam will be available in Chicago, San Francisco and Irving, Texas, among other cities.

Before taking the exam, candidates must meet several pre-requisites, including holding the Oracle Certified Professional title for 10g and attending two Oracle University training courses.

Oracle added the OCM to its slate of certifications with the 9i track back in 2001. It began releasing its 10g certifications in 2004.
